  Sulfuric Acid Anodize:
MIL-A-8625, Type 2;
AMS 2471, 2472;
ASTM-B-580 Types B, C, D, E, F.

Features:
  • Provides abrasion resistance and can be readily dyed to many colors and sealed with nickel acetate or water.
  • Coatings have .0001" to .001" thicknesses.
  • Excellent corrosion resistance.
  • Enhanced corrosion resistance with yellow chromate.
  • Super enhanced corrosion resistance with silicate sealers.
  • Provides excellent base for primers, bonding agents and organic coatings.
  • Excellent rubber bonding surface if unsealed.

  Hard Anodize:
MIL-A-8625 Type 3,
AMS 2468, 2469, ASTM-B-580 Type A.

Features:
  • Provides extreme abrasion resistance in coatings having .0005" to .004" thicknesses.
  • Provides excellent corrosion resistance.
  • Can be color dyed.
  • Can be teflon impregnated.

  Anodize Color:

Features:

  • Coloring of an anodized surface may be achieved by absorbing dyes of any color into the open pores of the anodized coating before they are closed by sealing which is part of the normal anodize process.
  • Some dyes provide a permanent fade resistant color for long lasting outdoor exposure in architectural applications.
  • Others provide an attractive sales enhancing decoration for consumer products for indoor use.

  Etch:

Features:

  • Controlled chemical modification of the smooth reflective aluminum surface inherent on extruded shapes or sheet products can enhance the eye appeal of aluminum products by etching in an acid or caustic chemical bath.
  • Masking can be used to provide protection for the reflective surfaces that are desired to remain bright while adjacent surfaces are given a contrasting satin appearance.

  Nickel:
QQ-N-290; AMS 2403; ASTM B689

Features:
  • Provides bright or dull corrosion protection for polished or unpolished wrought or cast brass, aluminum, copper, zinc, carbon and stainless steel.
  • Provides excellent corrosion resistant coating over cosmetic copper plate and as undercoat for decorating chromium.
  • Excellent electrical conductivity.
  • Serves as a barrier layer for migration of other coatings.
  • Can be used in making paint masks for decorating commercial products.
  • Can be used for engineering purposes in machinery building.

  Passivate:
QQ-P-35; AMS 2550; ASTM-A-380; ASTM-A-967.

Features:

  • Removes surface contaminants.
  • Promotes the natural corrosion resistance of stainless steels by creating a thin transparent oxide film.

  Pickle:
Features:

  • Pickling of metal is a process which softens and/or completely removes contaminating surface oxides or other inorganic materials in order to expose a basis material surface for use "as is" or ready for further surface finishing.
  • It must be done with care to prevent attack of the product surfaces.

  Tin:
MIL-T-10727 Type 1, ASTM-B 545

Features:

  • Provides bright cosmetic surface.
  • Provides excellent solderability.
  • Provides excellent electrical conductivity.
  • Provides good corrosion resistance.
  • Readily applied to all common metals including aluminum.
  • Provides good coverage in holes and recesses.

  Zinc:
QQ-Z-325; AMS 2402; ASTM-B-633.

Features:

  • Provides excellent, inexpensive, attractive finish and good corrosion resistance.
  • Provides enhanced corrosion resistance with clear chromate and seal.
  • Provides super enhanced corrosion resistance with yellow chromate and seal.
  • Provides ultimate enhanced corrosion resistance with olive drab chromate and seal.
  • Can be dyed to many colors such as blue, green, red, etc. in addition to standard clear, yellow and black finishes.
  • Provides attractive final finish.
  • Provides good paint base.

  Powder Coating:
Features:

  • Superior durability and adhesion.
  • Hundreds of colors and finish types (Wrinkes, Hammers, and textures).
  • Epoxy powder coats are chemically resistant.
  • Polyesters and Hybrids are UV resistant.
  • 5 stage pretreatment system provides superior adhesion for aluminum and steel.
